General admission requirements
• A letter of interest – explains why you’ve chosen this career path• Transcripts – High School and/or Post Secondary transcripts are required (Grade 12 or equivalent required, unless applicant is a mature student)
• Resume/Personal Profile – outlines your work history, education and skills
Proper support documents and transcripts must accompany each application.
Mature students
Mature students are students 21 years and older who do not have a Grade 12 diploma. Mature students may be accepted if they have the following:
• At least two years of documented industry experience in a related discipline (graphic design, video/audio production, desktop publishing)
• At least 50 credits toward an Alberta High School Diploma
• A grade of 50% or better in English 10 or any Grade 11 English course, or non-Alberta equivalent
Proper support documents and transcripts must accompany each application.
Digital intelligence quotient
We recognize that everyone has a different learning style. Some individuals may not achieve high grades within the traditional academic system as a result.
To properly assess applicants, we administer our own highly specialized testing module that measures “digital intelligence”. Through this, we can assess your ability to succeed in the program.
You will be given 3 hours to complete the test. A 65% grade is required to pass.
Foreign and ESL applicants
If you’re a foreign student, you must have completed the highest level of secondary schooling available in your home country in a program leading to university entrance.
If your first language is not English, regardless of your immigration or citizenship status, you need to meet one of the following requirements:
• A minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
• A minimum score of 213 on the Computer Based Test
• A minimum score of 79-80 on the Internet Based Test
