How to apply

Applying at Guru involves a few steps. Think of them as quests you must complete on your way to digital greatness.

1) Complete registration form

All applicants for full-time diploma programs must complete a basic application form. The form can be picked up from our Registration and Admissions office located here at the school. You can also download the registration form here or apply to Guru online here.

2) Supply the following documentation

• A letter of interest – explain why you’ve chosen this career path
• Transcripts – High School and/or Post Secondary transcripts are required
• Resume/Personal Profile – outline your work history, education and skills

3) Complete the Guru Digital Intelligence Quotient Test

Our customized exam measures your basic computer knowledge, reading comprehension, mathematical ability and artistic creation. You’ll be given 3 hours to complete the exam.

A score of 65% or higher is required to pass.

4) Submit portfolio

Next, you’ll need to submit a portfolio (flexible in content and level of formality) to demonstrate your creativity. Show us some of your best work. Your portfolio may include artwork, illustrations, photography, video/audio production or digital content.

Guru prefers disks, web links, photocopies or CDs of your original work. Please DO NOT sent original work! We prefer digital copies, but if you choose to give us physical work, submit it by mail, Fedex or another manual delivery method. Be sure to indicate “Portfolio” clearly and visibly on the package.

Guru Digital Arts College is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

5) Interview with our Executive Director

Don’t worry – he doesn’t bite. At this point, you’ll sit down and have a talk with our Executive Director about your career goals and background. We want to make sure that you’re a good fit for the school, and that the school is a good fit for you as well. We’ll be spending the next 6 months together, after all.

After that, all that’s left is to sit back and wait for your acceptance letter.
