GalaGuru 2010

Guru Digital Arts College is excited to host the

2nd Annual GalaGuru

March 25th, 2010 at Latitude 53.

GalaGuru is an event that celebrates the co-mingling of the creative arts and technology.

Last year's event was an eclectic mix of local food and drink, henna tattoos, belly dancers, interactive exhibits, and fascinating people. Check out videos of last year's event (all variations on a theme):

This year, we are hosting at Latitude 53. The Be Arthurs are coming out to play! As well, there will be some special surprises just to keep things lively.

GREAT NEWS!!! Twestival #YEG is coming to join us! I Bring a donation for Concern Worldwide. Twestival's focus this year is the education in the developing nations of the world. Twestival™ (or Twitter Festival) uses social media for social good.  All of the local events are organized 100% by volunteers and 100% of all ticket sales and donations go direct to projects.

LATE BREAKING NEWS!!! Hip Hop artist Steb Sly (aka Steve Sim of Bioware fame) is joining us to bring ambient grooves to the space. Check out his YouTube channel.

Also, @ZoomJer (aka the bacon suit guy) is bringing his #creepbasements videos for a fun rumpus room style film installation.

FAQ (well, we are guessing that these will be frequent questions)

"What if I find out too late, forget to RSVP, or get abducted by aliens? Can I just show up?"

Well, yeah! We just want to know who and how many people are coming so we know how much food and drink to have! ...and feel free to bring the aliens.

"Is this thing FREE???"

This is a free event. Munchies and music are on us. Those who RSVP will get a drink on us. Cash bar.

"This theme business, does that mean I have to dress up?"

Only if the spirit moves you. The theme is to set the tone so people know what to expect! Last year was a mix of Mediterranean influences. This year is rockabilly. But it is always eclectic!
