After the iPad honeymoon.

So, it's been two weeks and I've bought some apps, grabbed some free apps, played some games, done some work, and generally had a chance to get to know what life is like with an iPad. So, now that the honeymoon is over, where are am I at?

#yegmediacamp: why Guru got involved

We had the opportunity to sponsor an interesting event this weekend. One that gathered a group together that I was surprised to learn were strange bedfellows. Social media and traditional (mainstream) media. I was only able to participate in the afternoon, but from what I heard, the whole day was challenging and invigorating.

An Open Letter to the Flash Community.

Dear Flash Community,

Game Designers are doing the most interesting UxD.

The User Experience Book Club, this month, had the privilege of interviewing the author of "Information Architecture: Blueprints for the Web," (a good review of the book) Christina Wodtke. Social Media is not conversation, but it IS cool communication.

An interesting thing is happening in Edmonton. There is a growing Twitter population that organizes itself in interesting ways. #yegsings, #yegswap, #alexyeg, are all examples of what is affectionately called a tweetup. (TWitter + mEETUP). These events represent a way for similarly minded individuals to organize and gather.

Dear Apple, please offer a compelling option to Flash.

The interweb is abuzz with the new iPad and the impending line in the sand that Apple is drawing regarding Flash Player support.

Tonight we spent a delightful 90 minutes discussing "Content Strategy for the Web" with its author Kristina Halvorson.
