This week, I decided to ask our print goddess, JoAnne Simons, for some free design tips. Specifically, Adobe InDesign tips.

Unfortunately, she wasn't in her office. Being the respectful person I am, I left her an email letting her know I had broken into her office and dug through her files. Here's one of the juicy bits of info I gleaned from my espionage: 

I'll admit it. I'm not an amazing designer. My skill is with words - those ugly things that go inside your beautiful layout and clutter it. So, I've decided to get the most out of my time here at Guru by constantly asking everyone around me for design tips and advice. And now, I pass that wisdom onto you.

Today's tip comes from Beth Quirie, one of our Instructional Assistants and a consumate pro. Photoshop and I don't get along, so I told Beth I would stop putting "Format Me" signs on her MacBook if she would share a tip with me. Here's what she gave me:

If you live near Calgary, or plan to be in the area on June 11th, be sure to register now for the Association's Bar-B-Q, a year-end party for many of the ICT and Digital Meda Associations in Calgary and the surrounding area. Tours of the new SMART Technologies headquarters and research center will take place, as well.
